Home-made almond butter is a quality spread, better of many of those you buy in any supermarket.
Very easy to make: all you need is a lot of patience and a good food processor to blend almonds for about ten minutes, so as to allow the oil release and obtain the consistency shown in the picture.
For a small jar:
2 cups organic raw almonds
¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
Agave nectar or other liquid sweeteners (optional)
Blend all the ingredients at high speed with lot of patience and a spatula (stop every now and then to clean the food processor sides and to avoid motor overheating) blend until creamy.
Try this spread with fruit slices (apple, banana).
It will keep in the fridge for about 3 week.
